David Job, Director of Cadastral Integrity in The Office of the Registrar General, has been announced as the NSW Surveying Professional of the Year at the 2019 Excellence in Surveying and Spatial Information (EISSI) Awards on 7 September 2019.

This award is considered the highest honour within the profession and recognises David’s unwavering commitment to his chosen profession and our customers. As a Professional Registered Land Surveyor with more than 35 years of experience in cadastral surveying in NSW, David has achieved an enormous amount for the surveying industry. He has introduced Certificate of Currency legislation, was the main driver behind a recent NSW Land Registry Surveyor’s Requisition Summit to help industry work out ways to reduce requisitions, and he helped with the development of checklists and reference guides to help embed better practice. He is also supporting the digitisation of plans within the industry.

Since 2011, David has made an enormous contribution in his role on the Board of Surveying and Spatial Information (BOSSI). He has contributed to the development of the BOSSI Guidelines for Land Surveying Assessments, which help candidate surveyors and industry to define scope and goals in measurable terms. David has also been a member of the Institution of Surveyors of NSW (ISNSW) Survey Practice & Legislation (SP&L) committee since 2011 and is a member of the ISNSW Benevolent committee.

Most of all, David is respected and highly regarded within the surveying profession and by its related professionals. He is considered one the most eminent experts in the profession, always going above and beyond to give back to the industry. His experience and capability is an asset to the surveying profession and more broadly to Customer Service. We don’t think there has been a day in the past 35 years when he hasn’t done something to contribute to building on the high standards of our industry.

Congratulations David on this fantastic achievement.
